The goal of our project is to design an open-source platform to replace the current classroom response units at Notre Dame. The current system is not ideal: slow, unresponsive, klunky, and expensive. With our open-source platform, universities will be able to implement a classroom response system with minimal cost both to the school and the students. A recurring fee would no longer be needed, the upfront cost of the handheld units would be the only cost. The university could also tailor the system to its own needs because we understand that different people have different needs.
